6, 6: Ram: heya
It's been hectic lately, but plans are proceeding apace!

I hope to have some fic and/or art finished by tonight. I've done a bunch of Tron drabbles and half-drabbles recently, but am conflicted on how to archive them, aside from making ficlet masterposts on tumblr. They're too short, numerous, and unrelated to fit nicely on AO3. And I did level up on my lineart, but have to learn how to use colors all over again. Augh!

Went to a friend's engagement party yesterday. That was nice. They'll be living in New York, so I won't see them often. And I think the two of them fit well together. :)

Also trying to craft a good identity disc model so I can make a mold and cast, paint, seal, and make sure it properly attaches to my cosplay in time for Dragoncon. AUGH UNRELIABLE CLAY AUGH.

Just got a call from the ER where I spent the Wednesday before last. Apparently I have had strep throat this whole time, on top of the other thing.

It's been frustrating to be sick like this, especially since it's taken almost a month to even start to get the main symptoms under control. I want to be working hard and playing hard and getting stuff done and THIS KEEPS HAPPENING.

Basically, blaaaaah.

Not much to say here recently, so I've kept quiet. Still exist, though. Which is a win. \o/

I saw Going Postal and liked it not at all. Call me a traitor to Pratchett fandom, but nothing in the film did me any favors except Vetinari's diction (and he was ginger, wat??).

I didn't expect to be overwhelmed, seeing I found Moist and Adora irritating in the book and only really remembered the "deliver us" scene, but augh, Ridcully is supposed to be a hearty, beefy slab of a wizard who knocks people over with his voice (he's much better in Hogfather, but then the Dean is frail and thin??), and most of the Ankh-Morpork scenes were full of conspicuous extras puttering conspicuously around, and the direction/choice of camera angles was odd, and Death never made an appearance at all, which is NOT RIGHT, and was the reporter supposed to be Sacharissa? Probably, because Otto was there too, but. And lot of the side actors were behaving like self-conscious extras in a high school play. And the special effects were very, very iffy. So no, not impressed, and probably won't be for the foreseeable future.

Randomness:

I really miss the Dresden Files: the TV version, and/or the feeling the first five or six books had, before everything got steamrolled under massive ongoing plotlines and Harry's current characterization ("lol I'm such a dog, because in case you haven't noticed I'm a guuuuyyy, oh sweet glorious burden, I can't heeelp it, but isn't it super cool how I blow things up and snark everyone into submission, PH3AR MY MANPAIN"). Can the series just be about Butters already. Specifically, I miss everything about the TV version except the terrible, awful police procedure mistakes, which I believe are what sunk the show (you can't have detectives fumbling around a crime scene without gloves on when your audience has been watching NCIS for years). And I especially miss Harry and Bob. They were fun.

The thing in Naruto that I feared didn't happen, and I wouldn't mind if the manga ended right where it is, because after what [character] just did everything else is an anticlimax. \o/

Time for laundry and stuff. Yay.

--The one from [fandom] where [character] thinks too much
--The one from [other fandom] where [those two other characters] have wings

...yes I'm writing a wing AU sue me

ALSO

--The one that'll require reading the ENTIRETY OF NARUTO TO DATE

(because reasons)

I have removed myself from ALL THE MAILING LISTS.

Well, all the meatspace catalog mailing lists. There's still the email ones to deal with. Man oh man priorities.

It's colder than it should be in here, and I have the heater on and an extra blanket and miles of wordcount before I sleep. Let's see how that goes.

Dropped off dreamwidth for a week -- whoops. March is over now, though; that's something. Will try to catch up.

And I tackled a task I'd been delaying on at work. Didn't finish it today, but that's what tomorrow is for.

Starting to get excited about the new Transformers characters. Transformers was a phenomenon that largely passed me by for all these years, but someone hooked me on More Than Meets The Eye during the winter and geez, if the writing and art had been this good before I would've been all over this 'verse a long time ago.

What I really need is to streamline my habits a little more. I spend way too much time during a given week staring at the fridge and trying to decide what to eat or make for worklunch, wasting essential decision-making energy in the process. Decision fatigue is definitely a thing.

*sits here trying to decide how to end this post*

Argh.

Scheduling some writing time for tomorrow. \o/!
